Adrienne Fox is a Louisiana native, born in New Orleans, and raised on the Bayou Teche in New Iberia, where crawfish were plentiful, vegetables were fried and everyone wanted to know, "Who's ya mama?" She went back to her birthplace to attend college at Loyola University, where she earned a B.A. in journalism with a minor in history.
From there, Ms. Fox journeyed "up north" to the bright lights and big city of Washington, D.C., getting her start with newsletters and then as a writer and editor at Foreign Trade magazine and International Business magazine. To further her knowledge of global business and to tap the resident expertise of the international D.C. community, she earned her Masters in International Business from George Mason University in Arlington, Va.
Investor's Business Daily then came calling for a position on the newspaper's economy beat, where she filed reports on the unemployment rate, trade deficits and housing starts--back when you had to retrieve the data from the agency in person and then rush back to the newsroom to file copy. She quickly proved her reporting and investigative chops and got promoted to the National desk, covering U.S. and world politics.
Ms. Fox left the daily newspaper business to pursue more in-depth feature writing and editing at HR Magazine, where she spent nine years covering everything from global business to leadership development to recruitment and retention, and beyond. During her tenure, the magazine won numerous awards, including five national awards for Best Magazine and the distinction of being a finalist in the prestigious Jesse A. Neal Award.
Ms. Fox started PointCS in March 2007, providing communications services to clients worldwide. She currently serves as a board director of The Campagna Center, a nonprofit agency serving the educational needs of children in Alexandria, Va. She and her husband, David, are raising two rambunctious boys who exhaust, challenge and amaze them every day with their unique insights, total honesty and pure joy.

About the name: PointCS
I chose the name, Point Communications Services, for my business for two reasons: I believe as a writer, editor and speaker, that you should have a point, stay on that point and be on time. The second reason is more personal. I spent my childhood summers at an idyllic place called Cypremort Point (which we called, simply, "The Point.") It was there under the hot Louisiana sun and before the beautiful bay vistas that I found my inspiration for writing. Over those many summers, I filled countless notebooks with stories and plays while sitting on the screened-in porch or at the end of the cedar pier with my feet dangling in the water. I can close my eyes today and still smell the water and feel the breeze and see the love bugs find their mates. (I choose to ignore the mosquitoes in my mind's eye.)
I still have that childlike joy for the written word whether it be in finding the personal stories behind layoffs or tracking how the United States has lost its competitiveness in math and science and what it means for the future economy.
I look forward to hearing about what topic I can help research, distill and convey to your readers. Until then, feel free to browse this site.
